Socrates Sculpture Park

Socrates Sculpture Park's 2010 calendar of events is in development and will
be posted in March. It will include information about our upcoming exhibitions, educational
programs, events, performances, film screenings, concerts, fitness classes
and much more for spring, summer and fall 2010.

The current show, the 2009 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition, will close
on Sunday, March 7. Watch the video "Fix It!", part of an installation by Mads Lynnerup included in the EAF09 exhibition!

The Park's annual Kite Flight event will be on Sunday, April 25.

The 2010 spring exhibition will open on Sunday, May 2.

Makers Market will be presented from June 4th through the 6th.

Socrates Sculpture Park is pleased to participate in PLACE + DISPLACED: Long Island City
Mapping Cultural Vitality for Civic Participation

Fractured Atlas and its partners have established a survey to map artists, cultural organizations, and creative industries in several New York City neighborhoods, in order to bring more visibility to the diversity and cultural vitality that distinguishes them. The map will not only represent the present but will also illustrate what has been lost from the past and what is at risk of being lost in the future. This project will connect with other research and data resources to build on prior efforts and not replicate them. The findings will be disseminated through an interactive website and report, targeted at elected officials, policymakers, community groups, and the arts community itself.
