EAF06: 2006 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition

Special Thanks: To my family, BD, Max & all the unusually placed Indians of NYC

To create this installation, the artist gave $24 (the amount paid to the Lenapi tribe to purchase Manhattan) to twenty-four Native Americans living in New York City and asked that they purchase something for her to incorporate into her work. These items were then placed on platforms and encased in resin. The objects were allowed to ‘decay’ in a method traditionally used for allowing human remains to decompose in the air.
