On Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 11AM until 3PM, Socrates Sculpture Park will present the seventh annual Halloween Harvest Festival. This FREE family and community event celebrates Halloween and the fall harvest with performances, live music, artmaking workshops and food. The Halloween Harvest Festival takes place at Socrates Sculpture Park amid EAF07: 2007 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition, an exhibition of contemporary sculpture, featuring works by the Park’s twelve artists-in-residence. Visitors can take part in free artmaking workshops and make their own Halloween costumes or masks, have their faces painted, enjoy live music, enter their dogs in a costume contest, picnic in the Park with delicious harvest foods available from Once Upon a Tart, or just watch the fun!

The 2007 Halloween Harvest Festival has a Medieval Renaissance theme with free events including: Medieval costume making workshops with Socrates Sculpture Park artists: Jane Benson, McKendree Key, Catarina Leitao, and Deborah Fisher; jugglers, stilt walkers and musicians from Circus Amok; spooky games with Free Style Arts Association; Electroception, a haunting experience by artists Lilah Freedland and Mitch Miller; face painting by Agostino Arts; a raffle of carved and painted pumpkins by Socrates Sculpture Park artists; the third annual Canine Costume Contest at 2 pm (registration at front gate); and a special performance of Macbeth by The Red Door Theatre Company!

Macbeth will be presented in the Park at 3:30pm and is free of charge. The play is an adaptation by Susanne Boulle and Kevin P. Hale, directed by Kevin P. Hale, and features Molly Garber, Kris Lundberg, William Munt, Aaron William Oetting, Chrysten Peddie, Kirsta Peterson and Jack R. Wallace. A blanket or lawn chair is recommended.
