Socrates Sculpture Park offers two main programs for children and youth to experience hands-on art-making classes. For these free programs, Socrates hires a diverse array of artists, some of which have created and/or exhibited work in the park, to develop and lead art-making workshops, held in the park’s dedicated education area. Classes are informed by the park’s natural landscape and the individual artist’s subject matter, particular technique, and art-making process. Interaction between participants, other artists working in the park, and the artworks themselves are integral to the learning process.
Sculpture Camp is held Monday through Friday, from July 10 – August 18. This program is organized for groups only: neighborhood youth agencies, community groups, summer schools, and day camps are all welcome to register your groups. Registration is required.
Saturday Sculpture Workshops are held every Saturday from May 6 – September 23. This program is organized for kids and their families on a drop-in basis: just show up on any Saturday to participate! No registration necessary.
