Workshop on the Street with Amy Khoshbin

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2018 | 12 – 3 PM

A wearable banner-making workshop with Amy Khoshbin from the arts collective House of Trees, who activated Socrates’ Broadway Billboard with her workWord on the Street: Love Not Hatred. Participants are invited to respond honestly and creatively to the political climate of today by making capes, sashes, badges, signs, and banners out of colorful felt. Participants are encouraged to wear their gear to simply celebrate their freedom of speech or to their next protest. The point of the workshop is to spark face-to-face political dialogue, connection, and physical creative response. Everyone is welcome in this safe space for participation and engagement.

Please note: If arriving in a group of 10 or more, please contact us the week prior to your visit by calling 718.956.1819.

Free arts education at Socrates is made possible by generous and long-standing support from our partner ConEdison.
