Presented in partnership with Alexandra Jean-Joseph of Imamou, and Florence Jean-Joseph of Konfederasyon Nasyonal Vodouyizan Ayisyen (K.N.V.A.) – NY Chapter

2PM Doggie Costume Contest
3PM – Fet Gede Performance
Ongoing – Card readings, Food offerings, Face painting, Pet blessings, Costume making, and more!

This year our Halloween Harvest Festival is inspired by Fet Gede, the Haitian Festival of the Ancestors!

Join us for vibrant cultural activities including a Gede song workshop with Menesky “Sky” Magloire, card readings with members of K.N.V.A., and a procession culminating in a special 3PM dance and drum performance featuring Imamou.*

You can also count on our Socrates Halloween traditions: costume-making, fantastical face-painting with Agostino Arts, and Urban Shaman Mama Donna’s Blessing of the Animals, now including a Pet Memorial Altar (part of Reimagine NYC).

Dress up your pooch and don’t miss the fun of our annual Doggie Costume Contest at 2PM with local judges, Château le Woof and Friends with Four Paws!

Haitian food provided by Kombit Restaurant, with sweet treats from Val’s Cookie Canvas!

Various community partners including Queens Action Council, Community Board 1, and Queens Library’s new Bookcycle will also be in attendance.

*The Fet Gede performance is conceived and directed by Alexandra Jean-Joseph, Artistic Director at Imamou, with choreography by Mikerline Pierre and music by Imamou Drummers.
