INSTAGRAM TAKEOVER (Part 1): December 6, 2017

Tali and Alex took over the Park’s Instagram account to share process shots of their work National Park and to celebrate the announcement of their February 2017 Midnight Moment in Times Square!

Hi! We are Tali & Alex. We are artists and collaborators who made ‘National Park’ as part of this year’s Socrates Annual. The audio and photographic installation centers on a defunct presidential theme park outside of Williamsburg, Virginia. These images reveal bits of our research and process.

These photographs show the progression of our installation ‘National Park’. We created an 8 x 18 x 4 foot curved wood structure and adhered a large vinyl print to it. Scroll through for ‘National Park’ in 4 steps.

INSTAGRAM TAKEOVER (Part2): February 1, 2018

Beginning on February 1, 2018, Tali and Alex took over the Park’s Instagram account for a second time. Their film Save The Presidents, an interconnected work to their sculpture National Park, premiered in Times Square as part of the Midnight Moment series. Save the Presidents will run every night throughout February — the month of Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays.

Hello! We’re Tali & Alex and we are visual artists and collaborators. The joy of making ‘National Park’ for The Socrates Annual exhibition was creating a work for a diverse public audience. We are thrilled to announce that our film ‘Save the Presidents’ (an interconnected work to ‘National Park’) will be taking over the screens of Times Square each evening throughout the month of February as part of Times Square Arts’ Midnight Moment in collaboration with Socrates. Stop by the first screening tonight! @tsqarts #SaveThePresidents
