Nicholas Missel (b. St. Louis, MO in 1989; lives and works in Brooklyn, NY) received his BFA from Kansas City Art Institute in 2012 and MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2016. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2016. While he was at Kansas City Art Institute, he studied abroad in Kecskemet, Hungary at the International Ceramics Studio. He explores the intersection of industry, labor, and technology in his sculptures.
He has been featured in several group shows, including, Absence Project, Planta Baja, Brooklyn NY (2017), OBO, Microscope Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2016), New Contemporaries, Gelman Gallery, Providence, RI (2016), and A Sponge & A Sigh, The Wurks, Providence, RI (2016).
