Cardo-Decumanus, 1988Wood, gravel, steel, stone22'6" × 64' × 64'

Cardo-Decumanus (Latin, for the heavenly and earthly axes) is a meditation on man’s obsession with form and construction. Integrating the industriality of New York and the iconography of preliterate ritual sites, a view of Manhattan high-rise under construction is framed. The delirious skyline continues.
