Jan Rothuizen
Artworks

Rothuizen’s most recent iteration of Missing begins outside the Park, along Broadway, with a smattering of homemade signs one might find on a bulletin board in public spaces around the city. Inside the Park, several trees are covered with signs seeking what has been lost: personal affects, pets, and people. Rothuizen describes the project in this way: “Like migratory birds, the missing take up temporary possession of the places where I bring them together. They do not come together to be found; they come together to take from their desire to be found.”
