Looking Down, 2008Mixed mediaDimensions variable

Based on the formation of graveyard plots and comprised of over fifty sculptures that are uniformly painted white, this installation recalls the somber sculptural traditions of cemeteries. Readily accessible and experienced by the public at large, graveyards are rich with personal stories and cultural histories. Here, each “grave” is represented by disctinct pieces of found objects, bringing to mind the temporality of life as well as that of the materials used.
