Randy Wray
Artworks

Fashioned in the style of a Zen rock garden, the artist creates abstract sculptures from recycled materials. The grouping is situated on a bed of “raked gravel.” Each individual piece is fashioned from shredded and waste paper, larger pieces of which the artist has sorted according to predominant colors. The paper is mixed with a clear acrylic medium to produce a mix, similar to paper mache, which molds like clay but is water resistant when dry. This material is then layered over found objects and the works are sealed with clear epoxy resin.
