All That Is Solid Melts Into Air, 2011Woodblock print on poly knit fabric, wood8' × 81' × 4"

This large-scale woodblock print initially reads as a solid blue plywood construction barrier, a ubiquitous feature in the NYC landscape. Upon closer examination however, the barrier appears transparent, offering a shadowy view of the sculptures and skyline beyond it. The natural imprint of wood grain in the fabric barrier lends a subtle filter over everything seen through its veil.
