Tim Laun

This installation pairs a football punting machine and 1,000 square feet of painted turf to examine the suspenseful moment before an air-born football lands in the outstretched arms of the receiver. The installation will be activated when players take to the field to catch footballs that are sent into a high spiraling arc by the punting machine. Their preparation, anticipation and receipt of the ball will be documented for a video work which will be shown later in the exhibition.
