‘Muscle Memory’, Galvanized electrical conduit, outdoor electrical boxes, compression connectors, QR code126 × 126 × 126 inches

‘Muscle Memory’ is a spiral sculpture of joined electrical conduit produced by the Workers Art Coalition, a group of construction workers and artists who bring representations and creative expressions of blue-collar workers into public culture. IBEW Local 3 Electricians from the Harry Van Arsdale Jr. School for Labor Studies further contributed to the design and are featured in the sound installation. The work’s distributed authorship highlights the collaborative process while reversing the typical invisibility of the fabricator in contemporary art production.
