Gold Rush

Rachel’s ___wooden, __ structure is based around her interest in two main themes: Towers — vertical structures relating to skylines, monuments, pillars, totems, gate posts, etc.., and Portals — border forms enclosing negative cut-out space relating to the idea of the edge, seam, framing, transitions from one place to another. Her piece creates a shifting visual experience that destabilizes perception, causing us to question how we see and how we behave.
