In 2012 – when the neighborhood of Long Island City was being rapidly transformed by urban development – neighboring LIC arts institutions, Socrates Sculpture Park and The Isamu Noguchi Museum, invited artists Natalie Jeremijenko, Mary Miss, Rikrit Tiravanija, and George Trakas to propose speculative futures for the geographical area. The artist’s visions were presented in the  exhibition ‘Civic Action‘ at Noguchi and Socrates, and detailed in this catalogue.
