A Letter from the Director
John Hatfield, Executive Director
At this time, Socrates Sculpture Park remains open. As a New York City public park, Socrates has been deemed essential – so people can continue walking on grass, soaking up sun, and experiencing art. If you visit us, please remember to social distance in order to protect the health and safety of yourself and others.
Through the pain of this moment and uncertainty about the future, we hope the Park can offer some respite and peace of mind. There is a reason Socrates is considered essential during a crisis: people need to feel the beauty of nature and engage with art and creativity. Nature and art make us human, heal our psyches, and provide joy when we most need it.
We wish you, your family, and loved ones to be well.
