I used the majority of this amount to live off of in the past 6 months. By the time I had listened to enough news and read, thought, contemplated, experimented, slept, and rested enough, this sculpture is what I could give. What I have learnt about monuments is that they are an action; it is misinformation to think of them as objects. A monument is an action of public placement and of promise making. Its enduring heaviness is but an indication of and a threat by the power that keeps it there.
Programming
Solstad participated in a series of https://socratessculpturepark.org/program/2020-fellows-programming/virtual programs produced by the 2020 Socrates Artist Fellows:
https://socratessculpturepark.org/program/in-conversation-andrea-solstad-kiyan-williams-sandy-williams-iv/In Conversation: Andrea Solstad, Kiyan Williams & Sandy Williams IV
https://youtu.be/seHLiP-XWOQhttps://socratessculpturepark.org/wp-content/uploads/page/events/Screen-Shot-2021-03-24-at-12.14.37-PM-300×168.png
Thank You
Acknowledgements to Michael Connor, Erwin Karl, and Shu Lea Cheang of CycleX in the development of this work.
Exhibition
‘Monuments Now’
PART I: https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/jeffrey-gibson/Jeffrey Gibson, https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/ramirez-jonas/Paul Ramírez Jonas, https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/simmons/Xaviera Simmons
PART II: ‘https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/call-and-response/Call and Response’
PART III: ‘https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/monuments-now-part-iii-the-next-generation/The Next Generation’
+ https://socratessculpturepark.org/exhibition/billboard-faustine/The Broadway Billboard & “https://socratessculpturepark.org/lets-talk/Let’s Talk”

https://socratessculpturepark.org/monuments-now/#call-and-responsehttps://socratessculpturepark.org/wp-content/uploads/page/home/monuments-now-lockup-300×211.jpg

https://socratessculpturepark.org/artist/aya-rodriguez-izumi/PREVIOUS | https://socratessculpturepark.org/artist/kiyan-williams/NEXT

["post-2743","artwork","type-artwork","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
