Workshop: Eating Locally — Key Factors in the Search for Local Food
This workshop will dive deeper into the concept of sourcing your food locally. Jennie will discuss the importance of buying local for your community as well as the global food system, considering how your dollar impacts your neighborhood and the environment as a whole. You’ll walk away with tools to help make your weekly shopping easier, healthier, and more impactful.
Participating partners host Roots Workshops — a new series of interactive workshops for adults, featuring expert-led demos in cooking, planting infrastructure, and topics central to the local food system in Western Queens. Meet in Sticks, Socrates’ covered education area, limited seating available.
Roots Workshops are part of Back to Our Roots programming at Socrates that aims to create opportunities for connecting directly with the community and empowering healthy food choices along the way.
