It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no its a… pumpkin! Our high flying Halloween Harvest festival is back with the second annual “Flight of the Gourds” pumpkin carving contest and compost catapult as well as New York’s second largest dog costume contest presented by Chateau le Woof! Celebrate the autumn season with us with pumpkin decorating and creative costume making workshops, harvest-themed dance performances from cultures around the world, international food vendors, and our epic launch of the pumpkins! And don’t miss the cutest and spookiest dog costume contest around, hosted by Chateau Le Woof and Friends with Four Paws. It’s a Halloween like no other and can only be experienced at Socrates Sculpture Park!

12:00-2:00 PM – Pumpkin Carving Contest: SSP Artist Fellows vs. Kids!
2:00 – 3:30 PM – Public vote for your favorite pumpkin!
12:00 – 3:00 PM – Drop-in Pumpkin Decorating Workshop, pumpkins provided while supplies last or bring your own!
12:00 – 4:00 PM – Drop-in Costume Making Workshop: with reused materials by Materials for the Arts
3:00 PM – “Children of the Corn Dog” Dog Costume Contest by Chateau le Woof. 3 Prizes for Winner of the Contest, Runner Up and 3rd Place
4:00 PM – it’s the 2nd annual “Flight of the Gourds” pumpkin compost catapult!
All Day – International Food Vendors with Queens-based restaurants and chefs curated by Queens Together
