About
The non-profit Queens Together, which works to support restaurants and restaurant workers in Queens affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, has partnered with film-maker Devin Klos to create a short film, Queens Together at the ‘Eternal Flame,’ celebrating immigrant-owned restaurants in Queens.
The film was shot at Socrates and centers around artist Paul Ramírez Jonas‘ 2020 commission for Park’s ‘MONUMENTS NOW‘ exhibition: ‘Eternal Flame.’ Ramírez Jonas envisioned ‘Eternal Flame’ as a locus for dialogue and exchange through the universal experience of cooking over an open flame – the sculpture itself functions as a giant communal barbecue.
