Shabbi is a form of popular working-class music which evolved from Egyptian Baladi (country). Shaabi is the core of Egyptian people’s music in streets, weddings, everyday Egyptian life. Shaabi means “of the local people”. It is lively, upbeat and super fun and easy to do! Led by Astoria-based dancer Noora Aphrodite.
Queensboro Dance Festival’s ‘Dances Around the World’s Boro’ dance class series is back at the Park this summer! 4 classes only, learn a different dance culture each class, taught by Queens-based dance companies. Queensboro Dance Festival is currently on tour throughout Queens bringing diverse performances, parties, and classes to various neighborhoods around the borough.
