Sanctuary: The 2021 Socrates Annual Exhibition Opening  •  October 2  •  3 – 6PM

Come see this group of sanctuary artist projects on their opening day! Projects range from considerations of the fragility of ecological sanctuaries to honoring practices of self-care as spaces for respite for vulnerable people. Experience a fleeting performance Lights Light, at 5 PM, which was commissioned to be performed around Monsieur Zohore’s project MZ.19 (Patronus: For Mothers Who’ve Lost Their Sons & Sons That Lost Their Mothers) as part of an ongoing collaboration titled Visions of Mary.

You’ll have a chance to listen to audio of the artists discussing their works.

Additionally, food vendors will be on site. Delicious comfort food, including vegan offerings, will be available for purchase during the opening from Astoria-based vendor, Comfortland.
