After a year’s hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Hip to Hip Theatre Company‘s Shakespeare in the Parks program returns to Socrates! On Sunday, August 15 at 5pm they present Shakespeare’s tragic ‘Antony & Cleopatra.’ The play probes now one fateful meeting reshaped the ancient world: Marc Antony of Rome falls in love with Cleopatra, the enchanting Queen of Egypt, just as Caesar had done so before him for. As civil unrest plagues Rome, this exotic and intriguing tale illuminates the collision of power and passion as empires hang in the balance.
