Performance on the Park’s Stage


Young Dancemakers Company – a performing ensemble of NYC teens – presents a free concert of their unique, original choreography based on meaningful personal and social themes. The group dances to both live and recorded music, made in collaboration with professional composers. On July 28th at Socrates Sculpture Park, they will perform their latest works and an excerpt of Ann Reinking’s Ritmo y Ruido being set by Ballet Hispánico artists. Ballet Hispánico, is the nation’s renowned Latino dance organization and one of America’s Cultural Treasures.

The concert will begin with a site-specific performance that explores the park’s artwork and landscape. 2:30PM DANCING THE ART, 3PM STAGE PERFORMANCE followed by lively dance-making with the audience, led by the company.


Major support for this performance is provided by Con Edison and the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, as well as public funds from the New York City Council and Jimmy Van Bramer.
