Queens Green Day: Dirtfest 2022

Queens Green Day: Dirtfest 2022
Saturday April 23, 12-5PM
Join us for the opening event of our Spring season with Queens Green Day 2022!
Celebrate Earth Day with hands-on spring activities as we sow the seeds for the season. The Field Guide series kicks-off with free workshops for all ages, including a planting workshop for the Socrates garden with our farmer neighbors at Hellgate Farms, composting with BIG Reuse, and a tastings by The Connected Chef.
Explore the park with a guided tour by educator Christina Delfico and a scavenger hunt by SSP 2021 Devra Freelander Artist Fellow Rachel Frank!
Celebrate with a ribbon cutting of our brand new weather station with artist Heidi Neilson. Don’t forget to submit a name to the Weather Station Naming Contest!
Astoria-based baker For Love and Lemon Cookies offers gluten, dairy and gum free treats for sale. Reiko Füting and New Chamber Ballet will punctuate the day with a site responsive performance. Plus we will have copies of our “Monuments Now” catalog available for purchase!
