MexFest Presents Cuerpxs en Resonancia: Physical Body — Release, Repair, and Trace
Saturday, September 12 (Rain Date: Sunday, September 13) | 3 – 5pm
Free with RSVP here.

Somatic movement, mobility, and breathwork practices for repetitive-strain relief, including wrists, shoulders, and back care, plus practical body tools for work–life sustainability. Includes a participatory art component centered on hands as carriers of labor and memory. Participants create hand prints on ceramic tiles to form a collective mural inspired by Oaxacan artistic traditions — recognizing the hand as an archive, tool, and storyteller of working lives and their histories and contributions.  Organized by MexFest in collaboration with Socrates Sculpture Park. Curated by Arantxa Araujo and Xtian Ávila

About Cuerpxs en Resonancia
Cuerpxs en Resonancia is a three-part, bilingual movement-and-sound workshop series during Hispanic Heritage Month centered on providing body relief and collective care for essential immigrant, hospitality, kitchen, and delivery workers. Led by Mexican and immigrant artists, the series offers accessible, all-level public workshops integrating somatic movement (mind-body connection: Slow, mindful, conscious movement to break patterns of chronic muscular tension), breathwork, performance scores (choreographed movement), sound, and participatory art-making.

Each session focuses on a different dimension of embodied experience — physical, cognitive/affective, and energetic — supporting participants in releasing chronic strain, regulating stress, and restoring vitality shaped by repetitive labor. The park is activated as a temporary shared rest site — a space for recovery, resonance, and collective presence.

Workshops are free, bilingual (Spanish/English), and open to all. No prior experience required.
